Houston’s Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park is unique in the United States, offering an eight-month season of professional entertainment that is artistically excellent, culturally diverse and always FREE of charge to the public. This is the largest “always free” program of its kind in the country.

Located in Hidden Creek, Treehouse Park is one of the most adventurous places in the neighborhood. This beautiful area features an award-winning two-story treehouse nestled among 100-year-old live oaks that date back to the property’s early rice farming days. Hop across scattered tree stumps. Follow a curved wooden boardwalk across a ravine to seating in a nearby wooded area. View birds on the Central Flyway migratory bird path through Bridgeland as well as the many species that live in the community year-round.

Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark offers 30,000 square feet of top notch, in-ground public skating facility. Skaters will be impressed by what is thought to be the largest cradle in the nation. The skateboarding facility has launched Houston to the head of American venues for the progressive, dynamic sport. But don’t be intimidated because the park has areas for all skill levels, from pro to beginner.

Surfside Beach is much more than a sun-bather’s paradise. The deep waters just off the coastline create ideal conditions for surfing, kayaking, and wind surfing. For all the time you could spend enjoying the beach life, there’s more going on.
Fishing is one of the most popular pastimes in Surfside Beach. Cast your line from the shore or the jetty, or charter a deep-sea fishing trip for the chance to snag a shark or tuna. The village is also a wonderland for bird watching enthusiasts as more than 200 species of birds, including roseate spoonbills, sandhill cranes, and an array of herons and egrets has been spotted here.
